Unbroken: The Story of ME is a documentary and storytelling platform that chronicles one man's journey through sickle cell disease, groundbreaking gene therapy, and the extraordinary power of hope, faith, family, and modern medicine.
For more than four decades, sickle cell disease shaped every part of my life. It influenced my dreams, my relationships, my career, and every decision I made. Yet, despite the pain and uncertainty, I refused to let my diagnosis define who I was.
Today, I have the privilege of documenting what many once believed was impossible—a chance at a life beyond sickle cell through revolutionary gene therapy using my own stem cells. This is more than a medical story. It is a deeply human story about resilience, love, sacrifice, fear, courage, and the people who carry us through our hardest moments.
The "ME" in The Story of ME represents more than one person. It reflects my journey, the unwavering partnership of my wife Mari, and the belief that healing is never accomplished alone. It also represents every individual and every family facing battles that cannot always be seen.
